These are my dogs! I’ve often been asked why I have three dogs… I really love all three, and I think that after the first one, the rest are pretty easy! They have given me a lot of joy, and a lot of support and comfort when I needed it.
All three of my dogs are fairly well behaved, and they get along very well. I guess this is an anomaly for three female dogs, but I think the age differences and their personalities allow them to get along…

EmmaEmma is an English Mastiff. She weighs in at about 170 lbs… She has severe arthritis in her back legs, caused, I am sure, by being knocked around by my previous dog, Homer. Emma is a real sweetheart, and has a great love for frolicking even though you can tell she is often in pain. I love her! |

GeorgiaGeorgia is a Bloodhound that I adopted from a co-worker. I don’t really know much about Georgia’s home life before I got her, but she is very skittish and shy around new people. She warms up after a while, but patience is needed. Around me, she is super affectionate and kind of needy. Funny thing is, she doesn’t show any classic Bloodhound behaviors; she is not overly obsessed with smells, and she doesn’t howl too much… |

IslaIsla is a Scottish Deerhound that I adopted from a breeder. She was returned by her previous owner because the woman had MS which had progressed to the point that she could not take care of the dog anymore. Isla is 31 inches at the shoulder, but only weighs about 100 lbs. She is built like a Greyhound, but larger and with long, wirey, grey hair. She can run really fast, but looks pretty silly doing it. Someday I would like to train her to lure course and maybe even compete! |
