The oven is in…

Ok, sure… it took a few years, but I finally got around to installing the new oven. It’s a late-50s/early-60s O’Keefe and Merritt stove that Mr. Lewis bought for me at an auction. It was a little too big for the space, so I had to do a little demolition to the counter to make it fit. Surprisingly, everything on the unit still works! I had a little gas leak in the pilots at first, but a little teflon tape later, and all is well! I even cooked pancakes on the griddle!
Thanks Mr. Lewis!

Desert Camping

Mark, Rob, Pete, Jim, and I went camping out in the Red Canyon area again this weekend. Lots of off-roading, guns, drinking and fireworks (as usual!). The only excitement was when the bolts that hold the Jeep’s power-steering gearbox broke, leaving me stranded in the middle of nowhere without any steering. Luckily, Pete and I used our McGuyver powers to jury-rig a solution using bolts from Mark’s truck. Good Times!

Feelin’ puny…

After a nice day relaxing and recuperating from my cold, I went out to get some sushi… Smoked salmon, Ikura, BBQ’d Octopus, Spanish Mackerel, and Philadelphia Roll. Confort food… You say, “chicken soup”, I say, “sushi.” Either way, it’s good for what ails ‘ya.
