I completed Emma’s feeder yesterday, so I took a picture of all three dogs eating. In case you didn’t know, it is it is not good for dogs (especially large ones) to eat at ground level. I used to use plastic 5 gallon buckets to stand their dishes on, but they kept chewing them up! These new ones are constructed with bar steel and rebar, so I doubt they can destroy them!

I’ve added a new page to list some of my hobbies. For now, there are only pages about knife making and welding, but I hope to add more pages soon. Enjoy!
I met someone at the Koroneburg Ren Faire who made me think about art and whether I really had anything artistic to contribute to the world. I told Natasha just the other day that I feel like I have the skill to do many things, but I don’t have anything to say… So today I decided to try and say something. I started with a piece of lava rock I collected last time I was up in Mammoth. I’ve started to weld a cage of round stock around the rock… Right now the welds look pretty ugly, but when I clean it up, it’ll look better. I don’t really know where this will go, but I’ve got some ideas. Now I just need one of those auto-darkening welding helmets!
You can go to the welding page to see pictures of the finshed product, and of another one I completed since then.
Jon, Greg, Luke and I went out for a nice off-roading trip in the San Bernardino Mountains for Father’s Day this year. We had a pretty good time! We saw the Butler’s Peak Fire lookout, hit a REALLY tough trail, and had a wonderful picnic lunch on the shores of Deep Creek. I hope everyone had as good a time as I did.

Melissa and I went to see A Prairie Home Companion again this year. I bought tickets last year, and enjoyed it so much that I got them again this year. PHC comes to the Hollywood Bowl each year in the first week of June, so I plan on making it a tradition!
The weather was beautiful! Melissa got a bunch of sushi for our dinner and we sat out and ate before the show started (the Bowl allows you to bring food and drink in… kinda funny - they search your bags at the gate, but allow bottles of wine, cutlery, etc. I wonder what they would actually stop you for?). She also ordered a couple of Sapporos to go with it! Perfect!
This show had the usual suspects, plus Meryl Streep, Virginia Madsen, and John C. Reilly as special guests. We were especially impressed by Meryl Streep. She sang and acted in skits and was really good! The mucial guest was a bluegrass band called Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver. If you like that kind of music, you’d love these guys. Overall, a great evening under the stars!
